Job Description
TITLE: Legal Compliance Officer

JOB PURPOSE: Legal Compliance officer should ensure that bank is adhering to internal and CBA regulations


Job Responsibilities
-Develops and implements an effective legal compliance program in the bank
-Monitors Bank’s compliance with procedures/policies and Regulatory reporting requirements
-Implements regular review of bank’s internal policies and procedures to ensure they are up to date in terms of compliance with Group, regulatory and legislative requirements
-Manages and updates created database with laws/regulations/instructions in the bank
-Conducts follow up on proper implementation of all communications/regulations uploaded in designated software
-Evaluates change in business activities and legal system, to assess compliance related risk
-Identifies any fine, penalty and /or warning that is received by the bank indicating the reason for such violation, along with the concerned responsible business owner
-Conducts on-site visits to different units and branches of the bank to evaluate their compliance with laws and regulations, as well as identify possible compliance risks
-Educates and trains employees on regulations and bank best practices
-Addresses employee concerns or questions on legal compliance
-Prepares Legal Compliance reports for further review and submission to Head of Group Compliance
-Be aware of AML/CFT regulations and current trends
-Monitors and analyses transactions, conduct customer due and enhanced diligence when necessary
-Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Required Qualifications
-Higher education in Economics, Law, Business Administration, or other related fields.
-Availability of CBA Audit Certification is desirable.
-Minimum 2 years of relevant banking experience mainly in Supervisory or Legal departments.
-Excellent Communication & Teamwork skills
-High level of initiative
